OK family and Peggy, this is for you... We are located where the pink pen is showing and today's walk we went out to the campground we stayed at 10 years ago...out and back just over 12 miles. We not only wanted to see if the campground was still operating (and it is...) we also wanted to see if the Chinese restaurant we enjoyed so much was still there (and it is too). This restaurant not only serves amazing food (multi course ) but also includes a half bottle of wine each for $ 4.95 !!! We'll rest a little tomorrow and then head for Chinese on Thursday ... anyone want to join us ?
(This is taken from our inclosed patio). We just got back from our second day in a row of grocery shopping at Carrefour (one of the largest grocery-everything stores in Europe. We slipped into our backpacks and headed up the hill...30 + minutes up, 30 back with a lot of walking around another grocery store (Lidle) and a large and beautiful general mall. We left about 10:30 and got back with full packs at 3:30pm. We've been asked to post some pictures of the inside of our condo so, Lou in the kitchen (when she's in there I'm told to stay out), the living room, dinette in and the one on the deck. The island is Benidom Isle...
OK, now we will get a little caught up... Flying out of the states to Amsterdam was really uneventful except that it seemed like just about everyone around us was coughing and sneezing and all I could do was wish I had a face mask to keep from getting what ever they had... I just mentioned to Lou that I do feel something coming on and all she had to say was "well forget it !!!"...Thanks for the pity party... From Amsterdam to Madrid and then our first night in a bed for OVER 24 HOURS...I know it wasnt that long but it seemed like a month. Just down the street from our hotel we found one of the very few restaurants that was open before 8PM...the Spaniards east LATE and we Americans eat ....well all the time. Well Pete opened up his business and his heart for us. The moment we walked in he pegged us as PELIGRIOS or those who walk the Camino. It must have been the way we were dressed, dragging in, and carrying backpacks, who kinows. Anyway he wanted us to try dish after dish of his specialities including desert of deep chocolate ballls...what a guy. The next day we caught the Bullet Train to Benidorm...300 plus miles in 3 1/2 hours with 4 stops...it was great and we in America thought we are ahead in everything...mmmm....
